Sponsored content policy
How would paid or contributed material be labelled and reviewed?

Paid material can be useful when its scope is clear and its label is impossible to miss.
Publication route: name the layer, record the observation, then select the source or method that answers the decision.
What the term changes
A sponsored contribution is marked at the top of the page and kept distinct from the independent editorial stream. It may explain a process, a material or a company’s public documentation, but it cannot be presented as an independent test, an accreditation or a universal sustainability result.
What to record
The desk checks that a sponsor’s claims identify the relevant product, process, market and time period. Unsupported figures, copied procedures, private contact data and claims that outrun their source are not accepted. The policy is designed to protect the reader’s ability to tell a source-led guide from a paid contribution.
Commercial enquiries go to [email protected]. Read the editorial policy for the correction and conflict rules that apply across the publication.
